ic3s AG technology platform links T-Mobile partner Navigon to the operator`s mobile network, creating the basis for mobile services in navigation devices
Tangstedt, 29. October 2009
ic3s AG, a leading provide of quality technical services for indivudual messaging and billing solutions, has developed an efficient aggregator platform for German mobile network operator T-Mobile. The platform can be accessed by T-Mobile data wholesale partners. T-Mobile customers such as Navigon can now control and monitor the mobile connection to their navigation devices. Navigon`s end users can look forward to attractive additional services, such as real-time traffic information; up-to-date weather forecasts; accurate information on parking space availability and the detection of radar speed traps.
Thanks to the development and operation of a technology platform for its subsidiary mdex GmbH, ic3s AG has many years of experience in m2m communications. This enabled the company to tailor the modern, highly scalable m2m platform to Navigon`s specific requirements in a very short space of time. The platform is operated by ic3s AG in its own data centres.
Wholesale partners such as Navigon receive the SIM cards their own customers need for such services from T-Mobile and can then independently activate, administer and monitor these cards via a user-friendly portal.
Core functions include APN (access point name) management and CDR (call detail record) handling and reporting. The platform is, furthermore, distinguished by centralised control and evaluation functions, allowing T-Mobile to break down and invoice the mobile data volumes used by their wholesale clients easily, precisely and with minimal effort. Extensive statistical and reporting functions mean that the information required for these processes is always available.
„ic3s AG is a competent provider and valued partner in the field of m2m communications. The company was able to provide us with a platform meeting our customer Navigon`s requirements within a very short space of time. This allowed T-Mobile to quickly and easily connect Navigon to our system landscape“, says Piotr Wesolowski, Marketing Manager Wholesale, responsible for navigation and telematics services at T-Mobile.
